The initiative „Frankfurtemobil“

More electric vehicles for Frankfurt

As early as May 2009, the city of Frankfurt decided to make Frankfurt a pioneer in the field of electromobility.

Economic Development Frankfurt GmbH and traffiQ Lokale Nahverkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH want to promote the usage of electric vehicles in the city of Frankfurt by making the various vehicle types and usage known and making information readily available – whether the vehicles are electric cycles ("Pedelec"), electric bikes (motorised scooters), electric cars, electric delivery vans or electric buses.

"Frankfurtemobil" is the campaign label under which all activities in Frankfurt on the topic of electromobility have been marketed since September 2010. The local pooling of forces under "Frankfurtemobil" ensures a high level of recognition and clearly shows that Frankfurt is initiating numerous activities to help the spread of electromobility.

Against this backdrop, a whole number of activities have been initiated by the players involved. The players include the City of Frankfurt, Economic Development Frankfurt GmbH, Mainova AG, ABG FRANKFURT HOLDING, Verkehrsgesellschaft traffiQ, Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH, Stadtwerke Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH and many more.

By 2025, seven goals are to be reached with this, from the comprehensive network of public and private charging points to the everyday usage of multimodal mobility chains focusing on electromobility.
